Meet Dana

Whether I’m working on a floral or an abstract ocean, my focus is on the atmosphere the painting creates. Through color, movement, and composition, I create a sense of calm on the canvas. Your space should dictate how you feel, and my work is meant to transform the room it’s in.

My work is influenced by Hawaii, where I’m from, and Edmonds, Washington, where I live and work today. Island life and the Pacific Northwest show up in the moods and tones I bring to my work.

For 25 years, I balanced my studio practice with a full-time career teaching art to students in grades 5-12. Today, I work out of my studio at Graphite Arts Center in Edmonds, Washington, where my focus is now entirely on my own practice.
